- Aggressive treatments require
causes pain, fewer sessions and result in more post treatment side-effects – meaning a few days of social downtime.
- Less aggressive treatments accomplish the same results, with far less pain, a few more treatment sessions
and less pronounced side-effects.
- There is a fine line before pain and effectiveness
therefore prescription medication is required before Fraxel treatments. Topical anesthesia is applied before the procedure and cold air is used on the treatment area during the procedure to insure minimal discomfort. Skin Types
What side-effects can I expect after treatment and how long will they last? You will have some degree of redness and swelling.
The intensity and duration depends on how aggressive the treatment was and your particular healing characteristics. Other
temporary side-effects may include minor itching, dry skin, peeling or flaking, and a bronzed skin appearance. You will be
given specific instructions about what to expect for your particular treatment and how to minimize the side-effects.
What precautions should I take after treatment?
Wear sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher
and avoid direct sun exposure while you’re healing for at least 3 months after your last treatment. Further protect
yourself by wearing wide-brimmed hats if you expect to be out in sun.
How long do the effects of Fraxel treatment last? It depends on your particular condition and how you care for your skin. Once your skin is restored,
continue to protect it as described above. For conditions, such as melasma, it is very important to avoid direct sun exposure.
How does Fraxel® treatment work? The technology behind Fraxel treatment is as revolutionary as the results it can deliver. Unlike other laser treatments, Fraxel treatment
is able to precisely treat thousands of microscopic areas of skin, using pinpoint laser beams that penetrate beneath the skin’s
surface to eliminate old, damaged skin cells. Fraxel treatment stimulates the body’s own natural healing process which
replaces damaged skin with fresh, glowing, healthy skin.
How do you personalize
my Fraxel treatment plan? Your skin
is unique – your genetic make-up, lifestyle and personal history
all contribute to how your skin looks and feels. During your consultation
we use ultraviolet light that allows us to evaluate skin damage the eye can’t see. Depending on the findings we develop
a treatment plan tailored to your skin’s individual needs. By design, Fraxel Treatments can target between approximately
5 to 50 percent of the skin’s surface, leaving the remaining 50
to 95 percent available to quickly
heal the treated areas. Since Fraxel
treatment is so precise, it’s safe and effective on delicate skin areas
like the neck, chest and hands, in addition to the face.
How long does it take to heal? You can expect two
levels of results, immediate and
progressive. Immediately after initial healing is complete, the surface of
your skin will feel softer, look brighter, and tone will start to
become even. Results improve over time and throughout your series
of treatments. Progressive results occur over the next three to six months as the deeper
layers of skin continue to heal.
Can I have Fraxel treatments on several parts of the body during
one visit? With this technology we can treat multiple areas in a single session. So as well as treating sun spots on your face, we can treat your hands, neck and décolleté.
Why do you recommend packages over single treatments? You want a package because it is much less expensive to get the results you desire when you choose
a customized package. We want you to have the best result so that you demonstrate better results to your friends. Referrals
are important to us. That’s why we give you and those you refer a gift when you make a referral.
How much does the Fraxel procedure costThe cost depends
on the area you’re having treated. We encourage you to come in for
a consultation at which point we can give you a more precise idea of cost and your other options
Will Fraxel get rid of my sagging skin problems also? During your consultation will see if Fraxel is all you need,
or if it would be better for you to have another treatment like the Microdermabrasion and/or peel or Mini-facelift plus package, etc.
